Reuel CBO (RCBO) is a youth-led nonprofit organization based in Kisumu, Kenya, working with young people, women and vulnerable communities to build skills, strengthen livelihoods, promote rights and create opportunities for a better future.
Building Stronger, Self-Reliant Communities
Reuel CBO is a youth-led nonprofit organization registered in 2019 and based in Kisumu, Kenya. We work to inform, equip and empower young people, women and vulnerable members of society to become agents of positive change in their communities.
We work alongside communities to understand the barriers that limit independence, leadership, achievement and meaningful participation in society. Through collaboration, capacity building and practical initiatives, we help communities develop solutions that respond to their own needs and aspirations. This reflects the organization’s stated background and community-collaboration approach.
What We Do
Promoting healthier communities
We support young people and local health systems in disease prevention, health awareness and general health development, with a focus on adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS.
Developing the leaders of tomorrow
We equip young people with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to become effective leaders and active contributors within diverse communities.
Advancing rights, dignity and equality
We promote human rights awareness, access to justice, gender equality and crime prevention through community engagement, school visits, partnerships and awareness programs.
Creating pathways to economic independence
We support unemployed young people, particularly vulnerable groups, with practical vocational, business management and life skills that can help them build sustainable livelihoods.
We don’t simply work for communities. We work with them.
Too many young people and vulnerable members of society face barriers that limit their ability to achieve their full potential. RCBO works with communities to understand these challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions. From leadership and health education to livelihoods, human rights and skills development, our programs are designed to give people the knowledge, confidence, opportunities and support they need to shape their own futures.
